20th March 2016

On Sunday 20th March Frances, Irene, Simon, Glen and Daryl of PLEG began work at the site of the old Pinkerton homestead beside the Werribee River.

Unfortunately the old bluestone homestead is in a state of ruin. The original Robinia trees planted by the Pinkertons trees still surround the home but a few have spread to the riverside. Those around the old house have been retained for heritage value but those that have spread to the river were cut down by Irene with her chainsaw.

As the trees have barely spread beyond the homestead site in 170 years they appear to have little weed potential.
