Cobbledicks Ford Reserve, Mt. Cotterell

On Saturday morning of 14 July, 9 am - 12 noon, you are invited to join PLEG in planting beside the Werribee River at Cobbledicks Ford Reserve, Mt Cotterell.

Wyndham Council has transformed this beautiful reserve by planting local native plant species, especially adapted for the low-rainfall volcanic plains

red browed finch x250Pinkerton Landcare and Environment Group members have been collecting the local native seeds from native grasses, which are grown to maturity by GAGIN, and then re-planted on the flood plain, restoring it as a thriving understorey, which also has the benefit of providing seeds for birds, such as red-browed finches and holding the soil down with strong roots during flooding events.

Everyone is welcome to join us, any time between 9am - 12 noon, on Saturday 14th July.

Meet at the bottom of the hill in the car park.
