Weeping grass Microlaena stipoides regeneration

The Plains Grassland area on top of the Poa escarpment was infested with Patersons curse at the beginning of the project.

With the help of the Western Water contractors and others, the area was cleared of this noxious weed by early 2006.

Tempory rabbit proof fence added and work being done to remove the last traces of weeds.  Following this, the area was seeded with Kangaroo grass.

Thankfully the native Weeping Grass - Microlaena stipoides saw this and has started to regenerate the area.

It is hoped that other native grasses and herbs etc will also be back shortly to fully regenerate this escarpment.
